Jill Stuart Spring 2013 Runway Review

From bows and pleats, to lace and sequins, feminine frills were bountiful at this season’s Jill Stuart show. Lace and sheer panels have, in fact, popped up at a number of shows and they proved to be Stuart's most successful pieces (particularly blouses and daytime dresses). Also stellar were the designer's tightly cinched fitted trenches. The less successful high-shine pieces appeared a tad too slinky and lingerie-like.

Overall, while there may not have been anything earth shatteringly innovative in the season's lineup, there will be plenty of feminine closet staples for Stuart fans to pick up come spring – along with a few more envelope pushing pieces like bra tops, another burgeoning trend.
