Stripes were a big motif this season for Dolce & Gabbana, as they have been for a number of other brands, but there was a dowdiness to the loose cuts with which most of them were done. Similarly, the overly ornate prints didn’t hold much in the way of wearable appeal, and with the 80-plus looks the show couldn’t help but feel redundant. There were some striking looks in this season’s collection, namely dresses that appeared to be fashioned out of potato sacks…let’s hope they at least get some editorial love.
