Viktor & Rolf Spring 2013 Runway Review

Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren focused on duality for their Spring 2013 Victor & Rolf collection something that was underscored by having their models enter from around a mirrored staircase and onto a checkered floor. Fittingly, the collection kicked off with colorblocked looks that mixed black, white, and silver lamé resulting in pieces that held both dramatic and wearable appeal — in other words, a huge improvement from last season.

Draping was soft resulting in an almost goddess-like effect, particularly when it came to the floor-sweeping dresses. Despite the lightweight feminine appeal of most of this season's gowns, however, it was nice to see that the design duo kept their quirkiness via an oversized floral print, a bow print, and bows incorporated into the shoulders or waists of garments.
