Elie Saab Spring 2013 Runway Review

There may not have been anything groundbreaking in this season's Elie Saab collection, but there's no denying that the designer is a safe bet for red carpet-worthy chiffon and lace gowns. Saab titled his collection "heiress" and that did mean that he went in a more youthful direction for his lineup, something that was particularly evident in the peek-a-boo stripes and lace paneling of his eveningwear.

Daywear was strong this season with loosely tailored shorts and trousers paired with sleek button downs and peplum accented blazers for sophisticated but casual monochrome looks. The tailored looks along with a variety of fitted embellished minis offered a welcome alternative to the designer's signature fluid gowns and made for a well-rounded spring offering.
