This week, it was exclusively revealed that the London College of Fashion will be using London Fashion Week to present its 2013 MA graduates. Of course, this is being described as a landmark movement, as it highlights just exactly how prestigious a reputation the college has.
The shortlisted graduate designers set to showcase their collections at the Royal Opera House on February 15 will include Kieko Nishyama, Yan Yu Cheung and Yi Xie, which includes both womenswear and menswear.
The London College of Fashion’s previous alumni include the likes of Jimmy Choo and J.W. Anderson, so we can more than likely expect some of its forthcoming MA graduates to be the next big thing within the fashion industry.
London Collections: Men
Although London Fashion Week is still a good couple of weeks away, this week our anticipation has been eased by the arrival of London Collections: Men (LC:M), and Anderson's collection was a standout. As we know, Anderson likes to blur the boundaries with regards to gender and clothing, and this season’s collection is no exception. Most leading publications are pinpointing white canvas, kinkiness and tailoring to be the three major trends from his show. Leather pieces such as frilled boots, and micro-mini leather pinafores injected that kinky vibe, whilst tailored wool overcoats screamed male, and frilly white gloves swayed the collection more towards the feminine side. Check out our slideshow to see some of our favourite pieces from the collection.
