Michelle Obama Wows in Jason Wu at the Inaugural Ball

"Michelle Obama stays true to Jason Wu: Same designer for second inaugural gown," (British Elle). A shocking choice, considering that the First Lady usually tends to vary her designers rather than repeat. Even Mr. Wu appeared to be surprised by Michelle's dress decision. "
#Inshock!!!" was the word heard around the Twitterverse as the designer excitedly tweeted his blatant surprise. Not so surprising, a ton of congratulatory tweets he received right after. Bergdorf Goodman tweeted, "and ps – let's have a big glorious ruby red hive five for @JasonWu ! second time's a charm, m'dear." Glamour magazine's EIC Cindi Leive added, "I am over the moon for @JasonWu, two-time inaugural dress designer and all-around great guy! Just in case those tweets did not do the dress-response any justice, here is what FabSugar had to say, "We've finally laid eyes on #MichelleObama's custom @JasonWu dress & it's ruby red magic. Having a Gossip Girl #OMG moment. Hold pls."
Jason Wu wasn't the only designer to gain stature and relevance thanks to Mrs. Obama. Thom Browne also garnered plenty of love during the Inaugural day. Fashion Style Beauty tweeted, "LOVING
@FLOTUS in @thombrowneny. Gorgeous, smart shape, elegant, great texture. Love it." FabSugar tweeted, "The lovely @MichelleObama steps out in a navy @ThomBrowneNY coat and @jcrew pumps for today's #inaug2013festivities!"
And if you are feeling confused by Michelle's many outfits, you are not alone. Bryanboy tweeted, "Michelle in Michael Kors! Michelle in Thom Browne! Michelle in Jason Wu! Wait — I love Mrs. Obama but how many outfit changes has she done?"
Was Beyonce Overdressed in Emilio Pucci for the Presidential Inauguration?

And while we are biased when it comes to all things Michelle Obama, the First Lady wasn't the only one turning heads at the Inaugural day. British Vogue tweeted, "Beyonce and Jay-Z mixed
@Dior, @EmilioPucci and Tom Ford at today's #inaug2013." FabSugar added, "That hair. That dress. Those earrings. See @Beyonce's gorgeous @EmilioPucci #inaug2013." Sure, Beyonce looked beautiful, but was she overdressed for daytime? Tom + Lorenzo thought so tweeting, "Gorgeous, but we thought it was all wrong for daytime." The Fashion Court added, "Was Beyonce overdressed in her @EmilioPucci dress today for the official Inauguration 2013 ceremony?" Truth is, if anyone can pull of overdressing, it's got to be Beyonce.
Speaking of Jay-Z's better half, WSJ's Elizabeth Holmes tweeted, "Beyonce and Jay-Z just entered. 'There's the real first couple of New York and Washington DC' – Brian Williams on
@NBCNews #inaug2013." Truer words have never been tweeted.
Dior's Spring/Summer 2013 Collection Reinforces Raf Simon's Talent

For those of you worried that Raf Simons' second haute-couture collection for Christian Dior would suffer from the sometimes inevitable sophomore slump that follows a successful collection, the designer's Spring 2013 collection was a hit — at least on Twitter.
Actress Chloe Mortez enthusiastically tweeted, "
@Dior #HauteCouture show was AMAZING bravo bravo bravo!! Absolutely brilliant!!" Derek Blasberg added, "Such beauty at Raf Simons' second couture show for the house of Dior: He even made a voluminous hunchback look heartbreakingly sumptuous." From the gorgeous collection to the setup, it seems as if everyone was impressed with Simons. Styleite tweeted, "The finale at @dior couture is like one super chic garden party." One everyone would like to be invited to, we might add.
