Prabal Gurung Fall 2013 Runway Review

Prabal Gurung had a very interesting starting off point for his collection this season. Noting that designers most often find themselves inspired by men's uniforms and rework them to suit a woman's body, he said that he wanted a collection that was, according to WWD, "very much focused on women.” That translated into a sea of military-themed olive green, tightly cinched waists, leather harnesses, sharp cuts, angled shoulders and slim cut trousers.

The fit and tailoring was impeccable throughout and while there were arguably a few missteps with the mixed textured paneled cocktail dresses, the crisp outerwear and cinched tops more than made up for them.
