Peter Pilotto Fall 2013 Runway Review

Inspired by an El Greco painting, this season's Peter Pilotto collection may have been somewhat sober in hue but it made for one of the season's most visually stunning collections thus far. Mixed patterns and ornate embroidery done with metallic thread made for a number of standouts in the structured collection of architectural pieces. Among the most memorable looks were multi-paneled dresses with warrior like angled shoulders, flared and fitted coats and printed slit skirts.

These aren't looks that will have mass appeal and a few pieces arguably were a bit too boxy and mannish in cut, but for the woman looking for something avant garde but not completely over-the-top, the collection hit it out of the park.
