Giles Fall 2013 Runway Review

And the beanie is back! First seen on a slew of New York runways, a chunky version showed up at Giles Deacon's haunting Fall 2013 show. The dramatic lineup, which progressed from light to dark, was heavy on floor-length, textured and fringe-accented looks. Many of the pieces with their cinched waists, oversized puffy rounded sleeves and heavy long skirts took on an Edwardian quality, but were modernized thanks to Deacon's painterly prints and color combinations.

The level of intricacy in every one of the looks was astounding, particularly the wide skirted gowns, many of which would make for memorable red carpet moments. It's also worth singling out that gold is a burgeoning trend on the London runways and the designer weaved it into a variety of looks, including leather ones.
