The mannish tailoring we saw prominently in London and the rounded oversized sleeves we saw prominently in New York both appeared in Milan where Gucci kicked off Fashion Week with a confident collection. Frida Giannini showed the more loosely tailored silhouettes alongside the brand's signature bodycon ones and slinky embellished eveningwear.
Standouts included a cinched-at-the-waist over-the-knee black cocktail dress, a roomy below-the-waist jacket and a sheer paneled jumper in what was, by most accounts, a very well-balanced, cohesive collection.
