Prada’s model casting is always a hot topic of discussion in the Fashion Spot forums. Whether for the runway or an ad campaign, an appearance for the brand can effectively launch the career of a new model. So each season, Prada parades a bevy of quirkily beautiful new girls down the runway, sometimes even signing them to exclusive deals, effectively limiting the number of other runways they can walk down for other brands. They also have the ability to pull in a number of established models who no longer frequent the catwalks. Check out the slideshow below to see the women Prada effectively called dibs on with exclusives and special requests for Fall 2013.
Amanda walked in the Proenza Schouler show before making her way over to Milan, where in addition to locking up an exclusive deal with Prada, she opened and closed the show.
“It just felt right, didn't it?” JSYK commented. “You’ve gotta love it when everything finally comes together for a girl like this.”
Mariacarla was likely a special request – she’s well past the point of a go-see.
Forum members were thrilled to see her on the runway. “She was what made the presentation so hauntingly attractive,” GERGIN asserted.
It’s been awhile since Liisa made her way down a catwalk and she was likely a special request for Prada’s presentation.
“Oh my goodness!!!! I wasn’t expecting her to show up at Prada, but WOW, she looks amazing!!” bluestar exclaimed.
Jessica made her catwalk debut on the Prada runway and later went on to walk at Jil Sander.
Flyest posted: “One of the most interesting new faces for sure. I'll keep my eye on this girl. Absolutely.”
Kirsten, another special request, was a welcome sight on the Prada runway. She appeared in the campaign for the brand’s Spring 2013 collection, so her presence was not wholly unexpected.
Kirstin Kragh Liljegren
Kirstin made waves last season as the Balenciaga exclusive who opened the show. This season, she followed up her semi-exclusive appearance at Prada with a walk down Jil Sander’s runway.
“Enough exclusive stuff, I'm ready to see her everywhere,” HeatherAnne wrote. “So gorgeous in that fur at Prada.”
Juliane was another of Prada’s semi-exclusives who later walked for Jil Sander.
Prada claimed an exclusive on Joanna for all of Milan Fashion Week.
“Her glare is killer,” teaars posted.
Not only was Gina a Prada exclusive, but the show also marked this newbie’s runway debut.
“That's a wonderful debut. She looked fantastic,” pellucid posted.
Iselin doesn’t walk down the runway for just anyone; she was a special request for Prada in Milan.
“Why schlep around town for days?” Omnis remarked. “Just do the single most prestigious show of each city and be done with it,” he laughed.
