Nina Ricci Fall 2013 Runway Review

Taking a cue from designers like J. Mendel, Peter Copping's Fall 2013 Nina Ricci collection was a beautiful ode to the ballerina — think off-the-shoulder black top worn over a white tank, flouncy pleated skirts, bra tops, arm warmers, wraps, leotards, and ballet slippers and pointe shoe-inspired shoes. In Copping's hands, however, these were looks that ballerinas and the women attending the ballet, or elsewhere, would love to wear.

Done in a mostly white, black and red palette, the silhouettes were, with the exception of a few skirt suits, mostly long and relaxed and the collection capped off in an appropriately feminine style with bustier and ostrich feather embellished dresses.
