Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2013 Runway Review

Long and relaxed silhouettes fashioned exclusively out of black and white fabrics gave this season's Ann Demeulemeester collection a somber feel — something reinforced with the washed out pale makeup the models wore.

Tying into the laid-back silhouettes was a running menswear inspiration that included feather accented bowler hats. Despite the slouch and layering, however, most of the looks in the collection had a lightness to them, particularly the shapeless monochrome dresses (think nightgown) and sheer pieces. Things toughened up when the designer closed out her show with a slew of leather cummerbund and leather-top looks.
