Yohji Yamamoto's Fall collection was done mostly in a dark palette, beginning with deconstructed dresses, suits and separates and a series of fantastic cubic dresses. An asymmetrical dress with a full skirt, separates with fringed edges, slouchy pieces with elongated cutouts and knotted and draped dresses were among the strongest pieces. Less successful were the designer's somewhat awkward 3/4 length bell-bottom trousers and a trio of tubular ribbed knit colored skirts, but they were mere blips in a successful outing for the designer.
