Miu Miu Fall 2013 Runway Review

This season, Miuccia Prada heavily focused on outerwear for her quirky, but ladylike collection. While the best outerwear pieces were the ones that opened the show, which featured oversized gold buttons on slightly oversized silhouettes with fitted waists, the designer presented a number of cutting edge silhouettes including off-the-shoulder belted coats and cinched-at-the-waist outerwear as dresses. Polka dots and high collars similarly added fashion-forward touches to the designer's daywear, all of which remained perfectly wearable thanks to their streamlined, elongated silhouettes.

Sporty touches also came into play this season, notably on separates finished with oversized pockets and quilted coats. As for the season's handbag style, it was structured and rounded and the polka dot ones are all but certain to be hot sellers come fall.
