MOSCHINO SPRING 2009

Bows, harlequin motifs, hearts, bejeweled sunglasses, ruffles, and rosettes were aplenty at the Spring 2009 Moschino show.

That said, the collection wasn’t as quirky as one might have expected though, not in a remotely disappointing way.

Almost all the look in the collection, with a few alterations, would be entirely wearable.

In fact, it seems that Moschino designer Rosella Jardini has wholly succeeded in churning-out a collection that stays true to Franco Moschino’s fun, witty signature aesthetic, while appealing to wider, perhaps not always wholly adventurous audience.

The whimsically styled hair, colored tights, vibrantly colored shimmering satin looks with their over-sized detailing hinted at the 80s, but with an updated freshness.

There was a beautiful summer trench accented with ruffles on the shoulder and a black satin blouse with an over-sized bow worn under a fitted blazer that look wonderfully chic.

Overall, while there was some redundancy to the collection, I found this season’s Moschino collection to be one of its strongest.
