VICTORIA BECKHAM SUCCESS

She may not be the best when it comes to singing, but when it comes to selling frocks even in a dire economy former Spice Girl turned jean, sunglass and now dress designer Victoria “Posh” Beckham brings the goods. She’s been spotted all over the globe proudly being photographed in her Roland Mouret-inspired designs and the New York Daily News is reporting that her line is selling at a frantic pace in both the United States and oversees.

The paper is further reporting on a 24 hour period where the designer wore three different dresses from her line. She was first spotted with her husband, David Beckham, outside of the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan in a high-waisted blue and black taffeta Frejus dress which retails for $1,435.50. Later, on her way to dinner, she was photographed in one of her $3,415 sequined Barbazan dresses. Lastly, flanked between Dolce & Gabbana’s Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana Beckham she wore a simple black Camarague sheath dress which retails for $2,153.25.

Hard to believe that a designer the so heavily borrowed from a great design master like Roland Mouret is selling such pricey pieces with such ease. Why not buy directly from Roland Mouret’s RM by Roland Mouret line? The answer remains a mystery as Bergdorf Goodman is reportedly having trouble keeping the dresses in stock, while British retailers have been reporting selling out of the 10-piece collection within minutes.

Those looking for her collection stateside (but not in New York City) will delight that her collection will be available at Neiman Marcus come February.
