MCQUEEN LOOKS FOR TARGET

The anticipation for Target’s collaboration with Alexander McQueen has been on overdrive since it was confirmed back in November. Now the first images of the fruits of the capsule collection — which will hit stores under Target’s new fashion initiative called Designer Collaborations – are out.

The collection’s rock ‘n’ roll influence has been rumored to be drawn from British band The Duck Spirit and from the preview images that have surfaced from the Target/McQueen Lookbook we get some of that via cropped leather jackets, studded denim jackets, studded leather belts, and a tattoo print fabric with mermaids, dice, and anchors all of which contribute to getting across McQueen penchant for mixing rock and edge with feminine touches.

The prices of the pieces range from $19.99 to $129.99 and include lightweight sweaters, skinny jeans, bubble dresses, slim skirts, cuffed shorts, trench coats, denim, cropped studded jackets, men’s wear-inspired tuxedo blazers, a color-blocked one-shoulder dress with bubble hem, swimwear, and cotton voile print scarves.

The McQ Alexander McQueen for Target collection will launch on Target.com and at select Target stores nationwide March 1, 2009 and will be available through April 11, 2009.
