CRYSTALLIZE ME

Article excerpted from stylebubble.co.uk

I used to think there was some sort of odd fashion mafia movement occuring because a lot of my favourite designers are suspiciously sponsored by Swarovski, with something shiny appearing in several collections.  But maybe I’m just spooked because Nadja Swarovski has an uncanny taste in designers that matches my own.

In New York, Swarkovski has sponsored Ohne Titel, Jeremy Laing and Julian Louie and in London, Holly Fulton, Marios Schwab and Giles.  But I am starting to be thankful to the Swarovski team for their eye and their wads of cash supporting the designers, and I have also become enticed by the physical Swarovski crystals themselves.

Looking at other Swarovski-aided collections, I turn to threeASFOUR, a presentation I missed because I flew into New York on the same night.  What a shame, as I believe it might have been one of their best collections ever, combining their recognizable cuts with a streamlined severity, made far more interesting with the crystal-embroidered balaclavas, tights and gloves.  The star piece is definitely the black geometric boned halterneck complete with black shimmering gauntlets, an ensemble that would be my superhero/ine of choice.
