TIFFANY SAIDNIA, DESIGNER PROFILE

Los Angeles native and Tt designer Tiffany Saidnia’s fashion career began at an early age when she accepted a position as an assistant to stylist Jessica Paster.  Saidnia then moved into the garment industry, where she learned about the actual construction of garments and garment-dyeing by working directly with designers for brands such as Ella Moss and Splendid. She later moved on to assist knitwear designer Pegah Anvarian, and gained experience in draping and the creation of designer knit garments.

Broadening her contemporary background, Saidnia’s next stop was in the denim industry. She began working for the luxury denim brand Joe’s Jeans, focusing on design and fit, and moved on to work for denim couturier Henry Duarte on his Duarte Jeans line.

As if that wasn’t enough, Saidnia simultaneously launched Henry Duarte’s knit division comprised of graphic tees. Using her own idea of contemporary couture, she then launched the denim and sportswear division of her friend Tara Subkoff’s company, Imitation of Christ.

Finally, in Spring 2007, Saidnia went solo with her own knitwear clothing line, which she named Tt, her childhood nickname. The designer noted that her mission with Tt is “to create a knit line that has the same high quality design, fabric and construction as luxury designer brands, but sell it at a contemporary price, providing its customers with a taste of everyday haute couture.”

With perennially popular boutiques like Scoop and Intermix already carrying her line, Saidnia, at only 29 years old, is already well on her way to establishing herself as a noteworthy player in the fashion industry.
