JEREMY SCOTT FOR ADIDAS

As part of Originals by Originals, Adidas Originals partnered with one of the world’s most unique and talented designers (and one of my personal favorites along with Jean Charles de Castelbajac), Jeremy Scott.

The designer created a mini collection of Adidas Originals apparel and footwear products for men and women which are now exclusively available in selected boutiques, fashion doors, and Originals stores globally. Each Spring/Summer 2009 product features the Originals by Originals logo as well as Jeremy Scott’s logo.

Hermann Deininger, CMO of Adidas Sport Style comments on Originals by Originals: “Whenever we enter into any new partnership for Adidas Originals, it is essential to offer something truly unique and new for our consumers. I am thrilled to say that with Originals by Originals we are staying true to the spirit by bringing great Originals products to market designed by the most original and creative designers of today. There is no question that these are unexpected designs that have never been seen before in the street fashion marketplace, truly takeing Originals to the next level.”

For his part, Scott noted in a press release that he could not think of a better compliment than to be called ‘an Original’ by Adidas, and that he is happy to finally make his dream of a collaboration collection with Adidas a reality.

In his collection, Jeremy Scott gives an insight into his world where mixed-up classic sports silhouettes and fabrics that feature high-end fashion details are key. His line is inspired by contradictory combinations.

I was able to check-out some of the pieces in the line, and I was happy to see that Jeremy Scott has stayed true to his avant-guard aesthetic. His collection is chock-full of covetable statement pieces that will surely make a splash no matter where they are worn. Particularly noteworthy are his leopard print boxing shoes, a hooded fleece tux with tail, a fleece leopard hoodie, a fringe basketball tank top, a silver superstar jacket and pants (which are completely covered in paillettes), and fleece sequin sweatpants.

Apparel prices range from $50-140 for core pieces and from $150-450 for statement styles. Footwear ranges from $120 -180 for core and from $200-250 for statement pieces.
