VIVIENNE TAM S/S 2010

Unfortunately, with the abundance of suede fringe, oversized droopy bow ties around the necks, headbands, and sequin butterflies, the collection ended up feeling very dated – aren’t we still going through a butterfly backlash? I’m feeling like the fringe backlash has already begun…

Many of the looks appeared poorly styled with clashing prints and colors creating an overly-psychedelic feel, as in a multi-panel moss green suede skirt that was paired with a turquoise blouse complete with an over-sized black leaf print and strappy shoes.

On the plus side, the lover-inspiration did lend a breezy nature to the collection, especially when it came to hair and makeup which looked wonderfully carefree.
