DEREK LAM S/S 2010

The swimsuit collection was something out of a 1940’s Hollywood movie. Gorgeous silk draping and corseted bodices made it clear that these were strictly for lounging poolside, and not designed to be water friendly .

Derek also brought back his classic jersey dresses that have been sold out in stores even in this recession. Perhaps through this collection he sees a brighter and more American future for fashion.

A soft pink, off the shoulder blouse was intended for a body suit or swimsuit more for posing then exercising.

A chic, star print pattern looks effortless with a pair of high-waisted, white summer trousers.

Strong red, white and blue monochromatic looks made a statement without looking country.

An unusual pairing of textures and prints gave this American-themed collection a couture look.
