J. MENDEL S/S 2010

The pieces had an edgy structure (some were almost reminiscent of Marchesa with their mix of structure and bursts of tulle and organza) which I could see appealing to anyone from the 5th avenue socialite set, given the intricacy and delicateness of the pieces, to the red carpet party girl staple, given their exuberance.

Mendel is however still best known for furs and just because it’s spring doesn’t mean the brand forgot about them. A fawn mink strip technique cocoon jacket (with almost elbow-length sleeves) was shown with a cascading ruffle blouse and a mini satin skirt and a fawn shadow fox strip technique cocoon coat (with almost elbow-length sleeves), was shown with a pyrite charmeuse shawl collar blouse and a paillette organza skirt, both to tremendous results.
