RODARTE S/S 2010

A dark, beautiful fairytale of truth and survival conveyed with black, dirty runways and yellow mist of dry ice that filled the room during the presentation, the line consisted of mixed textures, prints and inventive new ways of knitting fabrics that were then draped and twisted into Rodarte signature dresses.

To really get the models into character, the sisters collaborated with shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood in creating platforms covered in studs and restricting straps.

Knitted, ripped, and shredded in shades of blood red and black, a Rodarte gown shows the remnants of what it once was and the beauty into which it has transformed.

Black chiffon, intricate metallic beading and draping are prominent in this black gown option.

Skin tight pants are adorned with lethal studs and metal trimmings.

Faded, beaded, shredded and sewn together the details on each garment were complex and inspiring.
