Lilly Pulitzer – known for her bright colorful dresses, separates, and accessories – will be hosting a cocktail reception in partnership with SeaWeb on Thursday, October 29 to celebrate the launch of the brand’s coral-inspired Resort 2009 collection. The event will also mark the commencement of a year-long Lilly Goes Green campaign.
Open to the public, guests will have the opportunity to sip Pink Lilly’s while they shop the collection, which includes the Coral Me Crazy medallion necklace. Ten percent of the necklace’s proceeds will be donated to SeaWeb and their coral-conservation efforts. Guests can also do their part by visiting tooprecioustowear.org and signing the Coral Pledge to help safeguard corals for future generations.
In addition, the night’s festivities also kick off the start of the New York City coral conference, “Coral: Symbol, Substance, and Significance” where Lilly Pulitzer’s Design Director, Janie Schoenborn will speak on an industry guest panel alongside jeweler, Stephen Dweck and Doneger Creative Services Creative Director, David Wolfe about coral as an inspiration in fashion. The conference takes place at The Graduate Center, The City University of New York on Fifth Avenue between 34th and 35th Streets beginning Friday, October 30, to Saturday, October 31 (go to acteva.com/go/coral for the event and ticket information).
