We ask Christina Tosi, chef/owner of Momofuku Milk Bar and one of seven artisits participating in Haagen-Dazs’ “L’Artista Della Serie” our 21 questions.

  1. When I get dressed in the morning I think…about how LUCKY I am to have my dream come true.
     
  2. I would never step into a kitchen without…putting on a great song.
     
  3. My beauty essentials are…mascara and some blush.
     
  4. I couldn't go a day without…eating a cookie. Seriously. I can tell you everyday in the past five years that I've missed my cookie-a-day regimen.
     
  5. My guilty pleasure is…a carton of Haagen-Dazs Dark Chocolate Chip Gelato on the couch, in front of the TV after a long, gratifying day's work.
     
  6. cookiesWhen it comes to savory foods…I'll nibble on a little before I move onto a ridiculous amount of dessert.
     
  7. I got into baking because I…can't imagine this world without ice cream, cookies, cakes and pie.
     
  8. It might surprise people to learn that…I take ukulele lessons, an obsession since my most recent trip to Hawaii for work.
     
  9. The key to being a successful entrepreneur…is to love being in over your head every. Single. Day.
     
  10. What I love most about David Chang is…he believes in me. Point. Blank. Always has.
     
  11. If my days had one extra hour…I'd fill it with family time.
     
  12. The last thing I Googled is…gelatin to agar conversions. Is that too dorky? The last think I Googled before that is a Vespa repair shop to get my new/used Vespa inspected before I hit the open road this summer!
     
  13. When I'm looking to de-stress I…go for a long run. Then proceed to #5.
     
  14. I'm dying to travel to…Indonesia.
     
  15. My favorite restaurant other than the Momofuku ones…is Alder, Wylie Dufresne's newest spot in the East Village — clever, cheeky, delicious food and drinks!
     
  16. Everyone's kitchen should have…kosher salt.
     
  17. The city with the best restaurants is…NYC.
     
  18. I'd never leave my home without…a smile!
     
  19. When I'm trying to be healthy I…follow #13. Then substitute Haagen-Dazs Mango Sorbet (that stuff is SO good and SO fresh) in lieu of ice cream.
     
  20. When it comes to my shoes…I like to rock something that I can wear in the kitchen to bake in but also run out to a meeting or a dinner and be able to pull it off!
     
  21. When hiring people, the qualities I most look for most are…a great attitude. Any skill can be taught. But a great attitude comes from within.
