Here's a look at more of the notable Resort 2014 shows.
Donna Karan kept things clean, lean and luxe for her collection this season, which was heavy on dresses and skirts that showed off the designer's seemingly effortless signature draping.
For Resort, Marc Jacobs mixed casual nautical stripes with glittering sequin embellishments and rusty 70s shades. Many details, in fact, had a 70s flair (think neck ties) and silhouettes were kept relaxed throughout.
Michael Kors has been particularly strong in the swimwear department these last few seasons and he continued on in Resort showing a handful of sexy printed looks. Inspired by Palm Springs, California and its high/low daily temperature fluctuations the collection included, for example, chunky knits styled with shorts, shown alongside classic pantsuits and casual dresses and tops.
Olivier Theyskens told WWD that he’s “kind of obsessed with cool girls,” and that definitely showed in his Resort collection. Who else but an Erin Wasson type could pull off menswear-inspired trousers and a baggy sweater or a bra top worn under a trench? That said, the less adventurous will still find plenty of essentials in the season’s mostly black and white lineup, including fitted print trousers, trim blazers and solid tops.
