Here's a look at the last of the notable Resort 2014 shows as we gear up for Haute Couture!
This season, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig pared down their usual over-the-top luxurious frills, but maintained their princess/red carpet appeal with a series of dresses featuring light embellishments, hand-painted fabrics and feathers and floral appliqués embroidery.
Showing both fitted and loosely draped silhouettes, it’s hard not to want to jet off after seeing Mary Katrantzou’s first Resort collection given that she opted to use serene photographs she’s taken from around the world as the prints for her clean-lined collection.
Layering, rounded shoulders and slightly oversized silhouettes were key in this season’s streamlined Proenza Schouler collection. Particularly notable were the cropped top, an off-the-shoulder print dress, pleated skirts and oversized sweaters.
Bandeau tops, high slits, crop tops, asymmetrical and slashed swimsuits, skin grazing trousers and a slew of bodycon dresses made for a sexy, but approachable Versace collection, given that pieces were kept low on frills and embellishments.
