“Intersection of form and function."
“A liberating flight.”
“Mixing high and low street wear, a new modern take on sportswear.”
"Spring 2014 is party dressing with an attitude. A bit extravagant, yet still feminine and luxe."
“This season I am inspired by a Parisian girl in New York. She has a quintessential offbeat glamour encapsulated by a tousled sex appeal that is part tomboy and part bookworm. "
"Inspired by my recent garden wedding in Barbados, I was drawn to a selection of botanic-inspired textures and colors. Guipure lace and organza embroideries grace an array of my flirty, femme silhouettes in wildflower shades that would make any garden lover swoon."
"The Spring 2014 collection is inspired by the freedom and motion associated with Gerhard Richter's work blended with the colors and stateliness of the English countryside."
“Strong and Elegant.”
"The inspiration came from the 1920s and my research into Josephine Baker. I was so heavily inspired by her journey trudging trough the horror of 1920s racism and the Vaudeville circuit and her escape and power within the french military. I was then inspired to bring Japanese geisha themes in and mix classic British materials and exaggerated kimono techniques. The whole collection is about beauty and power and about the removed power of the unemotional. Mixing the old and the new and giving it a twist. I have also taken from the 50s using pointed bras and synched waists but laying sheer organza over the top to reveal a certain vintage sex appeal."
“The lush tropical island Bali sets the tone for WHIT’s Spring 2014 Collection. The island is so lush with color and texture, I’m excited to bring that energy back to the line.”
“We looked at Bianca Jagger’s life prior to her Studio 54 days, and we were drawn to her Latin American upbringing. Other influential Latin American women across all decades started coming to mind with Frida Kahlo at one end of the spectrum and contemporaries such as Carolina Issa and Alice Dellal at the other. The result was American sportswear-inspired pieces with strong Latin American details: bursts of color, saturated prints, rich textures and intricate embroidery.”
“The collection, Resurgence, focuses on the rise and fall of Detroit, what it represented to America in its heyday — Motown, the auto industry and how inevitably it will come back around. I wanted to create awareness about Detroit's unique culture, history and its current state. Through my work, I'd like people to see the possibility of the city being something of value once again.”
"Geometry and poetry."
“This season we were inspired by the people and landscape of the Mediterranean. Everyone is so happy and full of life; that is the spirit Desigual captures for Spring.”
“Spring 2014 radiates sensuality, energy and optimism with an array of bold, spirited styles infused with Afro-Cuban influences to create an aesthetic full of texture and movement. Balancing fresh, feminine styles and modern sportswear, the collection is rich in detail, including leather and raffia embroideries and authentic athletic accents. Silhouettes range from crop-tops paired with full midi skirts and cropped trousers to signature fit-and-flare frocks. Textile highlights include geometric laces, tribal embroideries and bonded technical knits. Prints, always a staple, include mixed scale gingham and window pane, tropical floral placements and tribal geometrics in a spectrum of pinks, blues, greens and ochre. Building on Afro-Cuban cultural influences, key looks such as a bold lapis and scarlet floral flyaway frock with back ruffle detail, a striped scarlet and black flyaway tee, structured crisp white trousers and fisherman-inspired sandals express the effortless style of the modern woman who is sexy, assured and contemporary.”
"With the black and white trend still holding strong for Spring 2014, Carolinna Espinosa is excited to be showcasing this key style in unique geometric silhouettes, featuring bold stripes on heels, uppers and ornament; all this creating a sleek and clean assortment of on-trend shoes for every occasion. The combination of a high heel sandal and a bootie in one shoe will be a key style this season. It's perfect for pairing with understated spring dresses when going to the office, or more sensual evening wear for a sleek and edgy nighttime look."
"A conversation in heaven between painter Tamara de Lempicka and photographer Guy Bourdin on what makes a woman seductive and powerful."

“This season I was inspired by Morocco and the romantic, picturesque sun-drenched Sahara Desert. It's such a mysterious place where you can wander, get lost and find peace and beauty.”
"Every rose has its thorn."
"My inspiration comes straight from Malibu California. To me, Malibu represents true barefoot luxury. It's effortless style, modern, fresh and always chic. It's where I go to relax and have fun."
“Spring 2014 is modern romanticism. Construction details and trims reference early American workwear, with a hint of feminism. Key silhouettes experiment with proportion – cropped tops, full trousers and teacup skirts are paired with soft, modern volume in rounded sleeve shapes. Airy, crisp white poplin shirting and geo eyelet are layered with tactile matelassé, laminated knit and crystal-encrusted lace. Botanic inspiration is abstracted in prints, with transparent layers of color. Neutrals of palest grey and sage green are balanced with a strong base of cayenne and nude, with a pop of robin’s egg blue.”
“Hollywood goddesses Ava Gardner, Lana Turner, Rita Hayworth and Sophia Loren embodied the strength, allure and elegance that has inspired my 30th anniversary Spring/Summer collection.”
“Inspired by the architecture of Brasilia with the contrast of strong linear shapes against graceful curves."
"Awash with color."
“This season is about making the invisible visible thus revealing the secret pleasure of the creative process.”
"This collection is inspired by Yemanja, one of the most famous and gorgeous goddess of the Brazilian culture. She is queen of the seas — very beautiful, feminine and powerful, much like our SS14 collection."
"The collection is inspired by childhood idealistic military influences growing up on the naval bases and incorporating leather, denim and canvas from the NAVY, ROTC environment. The collection also incorporates functional leather jackets, slim fitting denim, luxe rope inspired knits and wovens."
“The collection focuses on shape and form, silhouette, and pattern. Drawing inspiration from folk art paintings.”
“Arirang Punk inspires this collection; represented by the excitement of play and deep resentment – drawing inspiration from modern Korean culture through the use of punk elements such as exaggerated colors and patterns.”
Kaal E. Suktae
“The collection was inspired by the Bible phrase, “The stone the builder rejected has become the corner stone (Psalms 118:22)”. It features a modern and structural aesthetic which is expressed through architectural motifs (concrete, iron bar, mold) and oversized Y-shape silhouettes in tone on tone fabrics.”
“The spring/summer 2014 collection is inspired by everyday views of men working out in gyms. This physical transformation from a gaunt-like state to a more muscular, masculine appearance is represented through classic argyle patterns, and an expansion of Beyond Closet’s “Dog Series”, depicted through prints and embroideries.”
“I tapped into the adventure and exoticism the idea of a 1930s archeological dig has held for me since I was a child reading Agatha Christie's 'Murder in Mesopotamia.' It's a mix of slinky 30s femininity with more masculine safari-esque looks.“
"Clover Canyon's spring 2014 collection is staying home this season, as we celebrate the joys of living in Los Angeles and the beauty of California Modernism."
"The 1980s, but done in a futuristic way...this collection is heavily influenced by science fiction, Grace Jones and the work of illustrator Peter Sato."
“For Spring 2014, we joined the Gypset, tapping into the idea of the stylish traveler who seeks out immersive, evocative experiences the world over. We wanted to explore their sense of exotic travel, their spirit of adventure and their wanderlust. As much about travel as it is the ideas that travel inspires, Spring for us is a season rich with the colors, the smells, the textures and the craft of far away places and far away times. This is the season to explore.”
"The Mathieu Mirano woman is the epitome of the rich femme-fatale: powerful, confident and sexy with an edge."
"Innovative simplicity paired with modernism gives rise to a collection that wants to be exposed. The label prides its inspiration on opposites attracting, the collection mixes structure with fluidity, softness with roughness and femininity with a masculine edge to create an eccentric collection that is just as much wearable as it is statement-making."
