Altuzarra Spring 2014: A Case for the Poncho

Ponchos are one of the most challenging pieces to make fashionable, but Altuzarra’s Spring 2014 collection managed to make them look just that. While the collection’s ponchos may have been the most memorable, the designer clearly had his eyes on thighs as being the season’s erogenous zone as most looks were slit to expose nearly the entirety of one of the models’ legs. Most of those skirts and dresses came trailed by ties, adding movement to the sleek and streamlined looks, which also included beautiful deep V-neck menswear-inspired silk blouses, a fringe hemmed blazer and a denim patchwork blazer (as with the poncho, Altuzarra overcame the challenge making it look nothing if not sophisticated).
