Derek Lam Spring 2014: A Lesson in Minimalism

Letting his shapes and fabrics do most of the talking, Derek Lam showed a beautiful clean-lined, minimalist collection. At times, shapes veered on the boxy side, but they never abandoned their wearability.

While surface embellishments were scarce, the designer did opt for some fringe, which worked beautifully across the chest and waist of a handful of his looks. Also worth singling out were Lam's gingham check dresses, separates and turbans, which will no doubt makes their way into the must-have lists of many fashion editors come next season.
