Meadham Kirchhoff Spring 2014: Mesmerizing But Lacking Wearability

Meadham Kirchhoff‘s designs never need help in the drama department, but this season with roses scattered around a runway, the lineup got just that. Add to that, according to Grazia, “projections of eerie, ghostly sounds, the thumping of hearts beating and doors creaking,” and you’ve got yet another mesmerizing collection for the design duo — though certainly one that will have a tough time finding a home in retail outlets.

High shine metallic outerwear, elaborate lace skirts, printed dirndl dresses complete with ornate bustiers, apron dresses, layered baby dolls, lingerie-inspired dresses and just about everything from leather and lace mixed and layered made for a captivatingly entertaining lineup, but one has to wonder who exactly is buying these pieces…
