Givenchy Spring 2014: Tisci Goes Tribal

Givenchy‘s Riccardo Tisci kept things dark and gothic as he showed some of the season’s most intricate designs — and beauty looks. The lucky models walked the runway with an exceedingly natural look, while others had nearly their entire face covered in gemstones and glitter (lips included!). The mask-like makeup tied into the tribal feel of much of the collection.

Sequin prints, harness details, plush feathers, lots of twisting and pleating, draped silhouettes and an earthy color palette didn’t make for the most retail-friendly offering, but each piece was stunningly worked giving a couture feel to the house’s ready-to-wear. The one major miss? The multi-strap flats each of the looks were paired with.
