Helmut Lang Wants to Keep Us Stylishly Cozy for Fall 2014 (Runway Review)

The Scene: Shown in a space in West Chelsea, the crowd was filled with power editors and bloggers.

The Inspiration: A tough girl with a soft edge.

The Look: Cold weather staples, including plenty of cozy chunky sweaters, oversized outerwear, slouchy trousers, layered separates (including skirts over pants) and mixed-texture pieces. As for the color palette, designers Nicole and Michael Colovos stuck with a neutral palette punctuated with bold red.

The Accessories: Pointed booties and flats, small boxy clutches and oversized handbags.

The Beauty: A reddish-brown eye and a tight ponytail (see our complete backstage beauty coverage here).

The Takeaway: The brand is best known for its everyday classics, which it delivered along with more fashion-forward prints and knits.
