Altuzarra Lures with Technicolor Coats for Fall 2014 (Runway Review)

The Scene: Altuzarra always attracts a fashion industry power crowd. This season, Stephen Gan, Jenna Lyons, Linda Fargo, Derek Blasberg and Olivier Zahm were among the many that sat front row.

The Inspiration: Titled “Interior Living,” this season was all about comfort and seduction, according to the designer.

The Look: Gorgeous blanket coats with contrasting lining, 70s-style belted dresses, lots of winter whites and creams, belted coats, tribal-like multitextured dresses and separates, multicolored patchwork fur, slim trousers along with neutral-toned dresses and separates with small panels of bright colors.

The Accessories: Wire necklaces and bracelets, cut-out shoes and knee-high boots.

The Beauty: Golden-green glittery eye, clean face, muted lips, groomed brows and pulled back hair.

The Takeaway: Luxe and undeniably modern, the collection’s more fashion-forward pieces, like the brightly colored furs, may not be for everyone, but it was great to see the designer go out of his comfort zone and make color an important part of his collection.
