The Row Marries Volume and Simplicity for Fall 2014 (Runway Review)

The Inspiration: Lovers of both volume and simplicity, think modern teddy bears.

The Look: Mary-Kate and Ashley continue their sartorial reign with a collection that screams, “I’m the cool kind of simple!” You know, exactly what super “mature,” but still rather young, fashion lovers are into these days. Monochrome looks with silhouettes both slightly kooky (one jacket is giving us major “bathrobe”) and nicely oversized sleeveless maxi dresses. Pronounced, structured necklines make repeat appearances throughout the collection, tying together the looks and also adding some structure to otherwise flowy garments.

The Accessories: Just chunky menswear-esque oxford shoes paired with scrunched-down socks (oh, and a few luxe boxy bags for good measure).

The Beauty: No-nonsense ponytails tied at the nape of the neck, and very fresh faces.

The Takeaway: We’re rather into this cool, modern and oversized rainbow — only comprised of gray and maroon — The Row is weaving.
