Badgley Mischka Goes for the Gold for Fall 2014

The Inspiration: The working woman who’s a little glam, a little retro and thinks Russian fashion is having a moment (because it is).

The Look: Frocks that ranged from office-appropriate (midi in a dark green plaid) to red carpet-ready (floor-length and ranging from floral and embellished to floaty and romantic). Metallic tones ruled the roost, as did the classic darks of fall. One can’t avoid a slight inclination to feeling a tad Olympian (even the order of the looks has us going bronze then going for gold).

The Accessories: Furry hats and infinity scarves lent warmth, as did swirly-rib tights. See also: short gloves, satchels and lace-up booties galore.

The Beauty: Simple, elegant half-dos (pulled back but flowing) with slightly lined eyes (mostly black but sometimes with some shimmery bronze thrown in) and medium-pink lips.

The Takeaway: If any Sochi metal winners are in need of an event gown, they should look no further.
