Giambattista Valli Brings Couture to His Ready-to-Wear Runway (Runway Review)

The Inspiration: Cocktail wear.

The Look: Giambattista Valli knocked it out of the park with a print-heavy cocktail only lineup of dresses and outerwear. Upbeat, the collection featured a number of bright metallic shades, soft pinks and floral prints. The beauty of the collection lied in the designer’s sculpted shapes, particularly remarkable were his mini dresses with fitted tops and A-line bottoms. They came in graphic black and white patterns and later in oversized floral prints and high-shine oxblood. The designer also showed cocoon coats, skater skirts and a flower petal sweater.

The Accessories: Black ankle boots and a fluoro handbag with crossbody strap.

The Beauty: Hair was tightly pulled back, faces were bare and lips were pink so as to keep the focus on the collection.

The Takeaway: For high impact, sophisticated cocktail wear, look no further.
