Highlights from Fashion Week Australia, Day 2

Unif.m

Like Romance Was Born and NLP, near-anonymous designer collective Uniform Studios Sydney a.k.a Unif.m went for a non-traditional runway presentation during MBFWA. For its “Mix, Match” showing, the Sydney-based label instead projected models wearing their daywear onto a digital cube. The aesthetic is tricky to pin down but is undeniably wearable. Overall, Unif.m’s collection – often based on black and white — feels minimal but really isn’t due to offbeat silhouettes and embellishments like fringing and flower motifs. Unif.m’s aim seems to be making everyday wardrobes just a little bit more special in a subtle yet modern fashion.
