Zuhair Murad Fall 2014 Haute Couture is Rife with Sexy Red Carpet Fare

The Inspiration: Zaha Hadid-inspired geometry.

The Look: Fitting for a designer beloved by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, it was all red carpet frocks high on sex appeal for Zuhair Murad‘s collection this season. Plunging necklines, sculpted shoulders and cinched-waist silhouettes dominated the glittering collection, which consisted mostly of floor length gowns. The designer’s inspiration was seen most evidently in his surface embellishments which often consisted of geometric patterns fashioned out of metallic sequins.

The Accessories: With such dramatically sexy dresses and gowns, accessories were astutely kept to a minimum. Models wore pointy pumps and the collection, except for waist-cinching belts, was devoid of handbags, jewelry or other distracting accoutrements.

The Beauty: Given that every look was meant to hold after-dark appeal, the models fittingly walked the runway donning bold, heavily lined black winged cat eyes, glossy pink lips, a touch of blush and groomed lips.

The Takeaway: For the women looking for something more envelope-pushing than Elie Saab, but less aggressive than Atelier Versace, Zuhair Murad is their man.
