London Fashion Week Spring 2015 Hits and Misses: Part 2 (Forum Buzz)

THE MISSES:

Burberry Prorsum

“Absolutely horrible. The sheer pieces looked tortured and poorly constructed. There is a definite lack of taste with what materials were chosen and how they were combined, plus the lumpy proportions aren’t helping. I felt very displeased and disgusted watching it.” [GivenchyHomme]

“If this collection isn’t proof that Christopher is already making plans to start his own label, I don’t know what is.” [Phuel]

“This has to be the most offensive mix-match of fabrics, texture and overall styling that I’ve seen in a while. Denim with shearling with plastic paillettes with suede with prints with sheer tulle with sneakers and sandals??? It’s like 3 (ugly) collections in one. And it’s even more disappointing because the men’s collection was so awesomely cohesive and well styled.” [Marc10

Christopher Kane

“Though I usually go for his ‘themes,’ the ropes idea just doesn’t work for me this season, and the non-rope pieces are hideous.” [HeatherAnne

“Okay, most of those satin pieces are hilariously bad and we all know it.” [dodencebt]

“Satin is a tricky fabric to work with (I usually don’t find it really appealing) and while I’m glad he’s experimenting, most of the time it really doesn’t work. It’s not bad, but compared to his last, brilliant collection, it just doesn’t cut it.” [StoneSkipper]

Tom Ford

“Where is the sex? Where is the luxury feeling of it? You can’t expect these girls to sell to the Tom Ford woman.” [TREVOFASHIONISTO]

“I’m actually stupefied he had the nerve to send this stripper parade down the runway.” [Vitamine W

“Over-styling couldn’t save the cast from looking like awkward teenagers shifting down a runway (and let’s face it most of them are). For clothes like these you need sex appeal.” [Cosmic Voices]

“Ugly clothes are ugly clothes on any model. If you need a supermodel to make these outfits more appealing, I hardly think it will translate well for the consumer.” [Marc10]
