THE MISSES:

Givenchy

A whole lot of nothing. I mean, casting was great and the models – men and women – were gorgeous. The soundtrack was fabulous. And some of the clothes were certainly attractive…but…we’ve seen it all before. I just feel like Tisci isn’t adding anything to the conversation anymore.” [dior_couture1245]

“After all the fuss that was made about showing in NY, I expected something great, instead he presents us with a disjointed and confused collection… It’s like he was half awake throughout the design process… For what it’s worth though, I think the typical Givenchy client will definitely find something to buy here.” [ogepma]

“Is it just me or even the makeup was terrible? Nothing relevant here. Nothing new. Nothing… Worse than being ‘horrible’ is being ‘nothing.’ Just ‘meh.’ You can’t say it’s good and you sure can’t say it’s ugly. It’s just boring.” [EstefaniaAbaddon]

Altuzarra

And people were trying to say he was in line to take over Gucci? Pshhhhhh……. Basic, basic, basic.” [GivenchyHomme]

I see quite a few Prada influences at least in the first half of the show. Overall, though, it leaves me very cold and uninterested.” [mistress_f]

“My problem with Joseph is that I feel like I’m seeing the same collection over and over and over again. The flirty blouse, the slits, the body hugging dresses… It’s the same silhouettes every season… I’m frustrated because there’s no substance in his work. There’s no innovations, no reflexions or any groundbreaking propositions. It’s just pretty… and thus terribly shallow.” [Wolkfolk]

Alexander Wang

“It looked like a Cheap Monday collection. I suppose he was trying to bring back the vibe of his early collections, but at this point I think the brand Alexander Wang can’t get away with this kind of hipster crap. The industry and his customer demands more from him, something that’s worthy of the price tag it carries. That ain’t it.” [Marc10]

“Yikes. What a mess. Not looking forward to seeing the street style set mimicking the boxers-under-short-shorts look.” [orchidee]

“I liked the first look but that was about it. The makeup made most of the models look like they were on crack. It was not a good look.” [angldior]
