The Bridal Spring 2019 collections were full of ethereal wedding dresses but two designers edged out the competition. That’s because both decided to take nontraditional routes and give brides the opportunity to be offbeat on their big day.
Andreas Kronthaler created a pretty punk offering for Vivienne Westwood this season that perfectly aligned with the legendary risk-taker’s alternative style. And the accessories made the looks — we’re talking an armor breastplate, fishnets and lace-up platform boots. Vera Wang also deviated from the mainstream by injecting tons of color into her wedding dresses. Not just used as highlights, the gowns featured nude backdrops as shades of yellow, red, purple, pink and green stole the show.
While the rest of the brands embraced the usual fabrics and white/ivory hues, the silhouettes were striking. From a wedding dress suitable for any glamleisure gal to 3-D florals that rival any spring garden, there was major head-turning appeal. Ahead, the 52 wedding dresses so good, you’ll want to tie the knot just to wear them.
