Good News: We Won’t Have to Wait Long for the Upcoming Rihanna Documentary

We first fell in love with Rihanna back in 2006 when “Unfaithful” became a radio staple, and since then, she has changed the game not only in music but also the beauty and fashion industries. From good girl gone badgal, it’s no wonder Peter Berg wanted to produce a documentary on the superstar’s life, a film he describes as an “unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life and how she’s ascended to become a global icon.”

Since his announcement in 2016, we haven’t heard much about the film—until today. Berg dropped a major hint on his progress in an interview with SlashFilm about his movie starring Mark Wahlberg, Mile 22. “It really is kind of a pretty comprehensive profile of what goes into making her this talent that she is,” he said. “The work ethic, the talent, luck, the hustle, the vision.” Berg added that the film will be out in about two months.

This won’t be Berg’s first time featuring the artist in a film he directed as he also worked with her in 2012 for a movie called Battleship. And this might be just the beginning of Rihanna’s move to dominate the big screen this year — she was reportedly spotted with Donald Glover for an upcoming film called Guava Island, directed by Hiro Murai.
