EDITION BY GEORGES CHAKRAS F/W 2010

The Lebanese designer was inspired by “the works of Argentinean artist Lucio Fontana and the expression of a fourth dimension demonstrated in his artwork.” Peep-holes, cut-outs, and plays on strap positioning re-occurred throughout the collection.  The collection was done with a palette of predominately rich, deep colors and a touch of ivory.

While the designer is best known for his evening and cocktail wear, it was a semi-casual top (shown in two color combinations) that caught my eye.

Ranking highly amongst the items I’m already coveting for before the collections hit racks is an off-the-shoulder monochromatic piece with a striking folded-over, wide-brimmed, contrasting metallic top portion.  It was first shown in blue with a metallic blue fold, and then in beige with a metallic silver fold.  In both displays, the tops were paired with wide-legged pants: Perfection!
