OSCAR DE LA RENTA F/W 2010

There was a slightly younger edge to the collection this time – something we already saw with the Pre-Fall ODLR collection, which was echoed in the models’ loosely curled hair, and particularly evident in the bold cocktail dresses, the best of which were monochromatic silk faille pieces with oversized pleating and draping details.

That’s not to say that the collection was a departure from the utmost in sophisticated glamour. As expected, the gowns were particularly stunning, especially given the  beautiful fur stoles (white fox, sable, black rabbit, silver fox) that the designer paired them with. A black faille gown and a strapless black tulle and metallic ribbon embroidered gown stood out strongly, and will hopefully end up in their proper place — on the Oscar red carpet.
