MAX MARA MILAN F/W 2010

If there’s one guarantee at any Max Mara show, it’s that the coats and fabrics will be top notch. As promised, the well established designer outwear favorite delivered with a slew of covetable looks for Fall/Winter 2010.

This season, the brand’s outerwear was heavily influenced by classic military silhouettes, which translated into cinched at the waist looks – tailored at the top and loose on the bottom, structured popped-up collars, lots of buttons, and gray, black, and camel colors. There were some loosely tailored looks thrown into the mix, many of which were given waist-area structure via slender belts that turned out to be the most eye-catching – notably, a camel corduroy swing-like coat that was perfectly styled with a black turtleneck and boots.

Unfortunately, as beautiful as the season’s outerwear looks were, the apparel – heavy on gold and embroidery – left a little to be desired. Does anyone really need to be wearing gold, loosely draped harem-like pants tucked into boots?
