MISSONI MILAN F/W 2010

In this dire economy, many shoppers find nothing more comforting than the feeling of something known and instantly recognizable – Ralph Lauren’s polo player, Lacoste’s crocodile, a Pucci print, and of course, a colorful Missoni knit. This season Angela Missoni was inspired by tribes, which translated into cozy blanket coats, capes, patchwork details, tent dresses, fur collars and outerwear, layering, lingerie-inspired pieces, and unexpected draping meant to have a thrown-together type of look.

The collection seemed like a bold departure for the brand, given how hard it will be to pull off many of the dramatically sliced and diced looks, but the workmanship in any and every Missoni knit is always spot-on (and many of the pieces will be slightly more wearable once they hit stores).
