It seems that Georgina Chapman has got more on her plate than adjusting to being five months pregnant. While I thought Chapman and her design partner Keren Craig would opt to design some shoes, a mass market line, day handbags, or perhaps most fitting, a line of beauty products and fragrances, their first product extension outside of handbags and their Notte by Marchesa line will in fact be a tableware collection created alongside famed china, crystal, flatware, and collectibles brand Lenox.
The Marchesa girls join the likes of Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Versace, and fellow bridal design guru Vera Wang in now having their own tableware collection. The Marchesa line – which will go by the name Marchesa by Lenox, but is being referred to by both parties as a couture tabletop collection – will include plates, stemware, giftware and a variety of home accessories. Each of these will feature one of eight patters of bone china that have been inspired by a Marchesa dress
Lenox has been updating their Facebook page with a variety of Marchesa links, so the collab doesn’t come as a complete surprise. Chapman told Fashionista that her and Craig could not “ask for a better partner than Lenox to materialize our vision into impeccable dinnerware.” As for updates, Lenox will be posting photos, videos and more information on their Facebook Page post launch party in mid-April.
